History & Establishment

Shaggar City Administration was established under the Provided Regulation No. 233/2015 (2022) in accordance with Article 73 (1) of Oromia National Regional State Executive Organs Proclamation, Number 242/2014(2022).

The establishment became essential to integrate the towns and rural kebeles surrounding Finfine and interconnect them with the necessary infrastructure developments in a manner that helps enhance service delivery and effective administration. This initiative aims to establish a modern and attractive City that serves as a center for development, investment and industry, urban agriculture, technology and information communication, innovation, tourism and business which also provides a convenient living environment in line with the history, culture and values of the Oromo people.

Through strengthening the social, economic and political integration of the Sub Cities and Rural Kebeles within the City Administration and connecting them with infrastructures that enable them develop collectively, Shaggar City continues to emerge as a modern and competent urban center.
